Standing Against All Forms Of Gender Based Violence (GBV) In Nigeria

Let’s Against All Forms Of Gender Based Violence.

Sexual assault is gradually becoming an epidemic in our society because of its frequent re-occurrence . In the aftermath of sexual assault or Rape, survivors can face extremely difficult and painful emotions, experience and so many other health related issues such as sexual dysfunction.

ENOUGH OF
*SHE’S A SEX WORKER
*SHE MADE ME DO IT
*I WAS PAID TO DO IT
*SHE NEVER SAID NO
*WHY DID SHE NOT SCREAM
*SHE USED HER LEGS AND WALKED TO HIS HOUSE
*SHE IS STUPID TO HAVE BEEN DATING A RAPIST
*ITS NOT ME I DON’T CARE
*WHY DID SHE GO OUT AT NIGHT

At a time like this, Action is all that can speak a change for the human race. We crave for a rescue from this pain. We therefore seek for our Government to establish sexual assault referral centres (SARC) in every state, backed with a coordinated and sustainably-funded support. This is to create a safe space for survivors where they can get treated, medically and emotionally as this event comes with an unending traumatic experience that requires professional attendance.

I don’t believe you need anything to treat the wounded as much as you need a system that stops any form of rape itself. I’ll rather see that there is no such environment for rapist and rape so we won’t need to treat any wounded.
